Elmhurst Addition
This Elmhurst family needed more space once their fourth child arrived. Building an additional bedroom above the garage was a perfect solution.
The biggest concern in the construction process was how to make the new brick addition blend with the original brick of the 90 year old home so no one could tell that it was an addition. The solution was to salvage all of the brick that was removed from the ledge above the garage and from the chimney. We re used the old brick and carefully blended it with new brick that was a close match. In the end it is almost impossible to tell that the newly created bedroom wasn't part of the original home.
The new bedroom provided all of the additional space the family needed.
Elmhurst Second Story Addition
Above is an example of one of our latest addition projects in Elmhurst in DuPage County. This family of five had outgrown their little ranch home. They explored the option of selling and moving into a larger home in another part of town. After much discussion, they decided that they didn't want to leave their neighborhood which has a large park and swimming pool directly across the street. They decided to simply build onto their existing home.
The second story addition consists of four bedrooms, two full baths and a large laundry room. The original portion of the home was completely opened up to be a great room complete with breakfast bar and fireplace.
The project was completed just in time for the family to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in their new home.
